For Years 7 to GCSE
I am an independent mathematics tutor with more than 20 years’ experience of teaching.
I have been teaching mathematics at a very highly rated independent school in Leamington Spa as well as doing one-to-one tutoring. Over the years I have worked with pupils with a wide range of abilities and have successfully tutored youngsters having to re-sit their GCSE mathematics. In addition I have really enjoyed supporting children who are being home schooled with their mathematics.
ABOUT
I have two main passions: I love teaching and I relish helping young people to develop a love for maths.
I pride myself in giving a personal and bespoke service to ensure that your son or daughter’s experience and progress is the best it can be. Maths is an integral part of our lives and one of the subjects without which a young person cannot progress onto further education. I have supported numerous pupils over the past 20 years with their mathematics and helped them to successfully attain a pleasing grade.
I can empathise with pupils struggling with maths as I was never a natural mathematician when at school myself. Even though I enjoyed the subject, I had to work hard to succeed. Having had teachers who were not always supportive or understanding of my needs, I had to revisit work to help further my understanding in order to achieve the grades I aspired to. When deciding on a major subject when commencing my teacher’s degree at Pretoria Institute for Teachers in South Africa, I opted to do maths; this, to say the least, really shocked both my parents!
I believe that not being a natural mathematician makes me better at teaching the subject. It helped me to develop strategies to simplify concepts and to break them down into clear and understandable steps; this benefits not only pupils who struggle to make the grades but on the other hand also helps the more able pupils to access the level 7 to 9 topics with confidence.

ONLINE MATHEMATICS TUITION
1:1 Online Mathematics Tuition via Zoom for year 7 through to GCSE. Exam boards include Edexcel GCSE and International GCSEs, AQA and OCR GCSEs.
MATHEMATICS FOR HOME SCHOOLING
I cater for pupils who are being home schooled but need support with the more challenging topics as well as examination preparation. This can be either one-to-one lessons or small groups of up to 4 pupils with similar ability and in the school year.
ONLINE PLATFORM
All pupils doing regular weekly lessons will be provided with a login to use Complete Mathematics. This is an online platform with interactive video clips, worksheets, maths quizzes and facility to practise times tables. Homework will be set and monitored via Complete Mathematics.

Liezl always encouraged and helped them believe they could, often by taking things right back to basics with patience and a good sense of humour.
